Strategic plan

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1:
Partnerships for People and PlanetTo foster, facilitate and enhance international, inter-governmental, interdisciplinary and cross-community cooperation on health and biodiversity.
- GOAL 1.1 Develop and sustain new science and policy partnerships on issues linking health and biodiversity, whilst strengthening existing initiatives and alliances working in relevant areas
- GOAL 1.2 Develop new, and support existing, avenues for knowledge exchange and experience-sharing on the issues at local, national, regional and international levels
- GOAL 1.3 Promote and support partnerships for practical action on health and biodiversity at all levels, with particular focus on achieving benefits for local communities
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2:
Information and EducationTo communicate the importance of biodiversity and ecosystems services to decision makers, stakeholders, the private sector and the wider public.
- GOAL 2.1 Serve as a focal point for clear and accessible information on links between biodiversity and health for policy makers, communities, businesses and civil society organisations
- GOAL 2.2 Support and facilitate the development of programmes for public and professional education and training on the issues
- GOAL 2.3 Increase knowledge and enhance the evidence-base on the links between biodiversity and health and well-being
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 3:
Engagement and UptakeTo strengthen the integration of holistic, systemic approaches to health and biodiversity across all relevant sectors and at all levels.
- GOAL 3.1 Identify and address barriers to understanding and effective communication of the importance of biodiversity to health and well-being across all relevant disciplines
- GOAL 3.2 Support and enhance the uptake of integrated, holistic approaches to health and biodiversity interlinkages in policy and practice at all levels
- GOAL 3.3 Respond quickly and effectively to the science, policy and capacity needs of partners and relevant stakeholders particularly in response to emerging issues, evidence or challenges
